About the Event
Higher education institutions are currently facing a "silent wave" of change due to the disruption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) infiltrating various campus activities. The emergence of the "AI Emergency" phenomenon has shattered the monopoly of knowledge previously held exclusively by institutions and lecturers, as students now have access to instant and responsive alternative smart assistants.
For Poltekkes Kemenkes Bandung, this "AI Emergency" condition demands a fundamental overhaul in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely Education, Research, and Community Service. If not immediately integrated and mitigated, uncontrolled use of AI could trigger various risks such as authorship disputes, intellectual dependence, decline in students' critical thinking, cybersecurity threats, to ethical and data privacy violations. Therefore, a massive educational and digital literacy forum is needed for the entire academic community so that AI can be positioned as a supportive "learning companion" and strengthen the global competitiveness of graduates by 2039.
